In honour of the British Royal Wedding tomorrow, we wanted to give Westminster Abbey a run for its money by suggesting some great wedding venues in Catalonia. Here at LifeatPGA we believe sun, sea and sangria are the perfect ingredients for a wedding to remember…

From romantic coastal villas to traditional rural Spanish country houses, Catalonia has it all. Paradores are historical buildings, such as castles, fortresses and palaces which make fabulous locations for a wedding. Each Spanish Paradores has an interesting history and many overlook famous buildings or are located in areas of outstanding beauty. They are commercially run, though often less expensive than hotels and make for a truely romantic setting.

Where better to so ‘I do’ than being surrounded by the smell of aromatic plants, century old pine trees, with a spectacular view of the coast?

The Monastery El Convent in Blanes was built in 1583, and since then this historical building has been preserved as well as the spectacular land surrounding the monsatery due to its cultural heritage . El Convent is located within the Punta de Santa Anna, just on the edge of the Costa Brava region.

If you are looking for a lively atmospheric setting, Barcelona could be the spot for you. This cosmopolitan city boasts wonderful examples of Romanesque, Gothic and Modernist buildings and is steeped with history. Promising a vibrant feel during the day and a magical scene by night your wedding guests will be highly entertained during their stay. As the home and heart of Antoni Gaudi, the city houses some of his most celebrated works such as the Sagrada Familia and the Casa Batlló, both of which make potential fantastic wedding venues and will surely impress all guests in attendance!

And with Camiral’a fantastic golf on hand, the grooms and ushers can enjoy a morning round of golf before the wedding!
